From Rock Band to high school band
A recent study funded by Youth Music, a U.K. charity, claims that playing rhythm games such as Rock Band, Wii Music, and Guitar Hero, is inspiring kids to learn real instruments. Survey responders suggested that the games increase kids' interest in music and can be used as a "practice aid." One of the authors of the report suggested that the inclusive, family-friendly nature of the games, and a possible increase in performance confidence, might be behind the link between the games and musicianship.
